Launch of Centenary Celebrations

Dr.S. Ayyappan launching Centenary Celebrations The Centenary Celebrations were launched by Dr. S. Ayyappan, Director General (ICAR) on 24th October, 2011 coinciding with the 99th Foundation Day of the Sugarcane Breeding Institute at Coimbatore. On this occasion, Dr. S. Ayyappan inaugurated the newly constructed Centralized Biotechnology Laboratory and Transgenic Field Laboratory.

  1. Sugarcane Breeders Pathologists Meet - As part of the Centenary Celebrations, "Sugarcane Breeders Pathologists Meet" was organized on January 23, 2012 at the Main Campus at Coimbatore. The meet was jointly sponsored by the Society for Sugarcane Research and Development, Coimbatore and the All India Coordinated Research Project (Sugarcane). The highlights of the meet were presentation of lead papers by experts in the field of sugarcane breeding and pathology and a panel discussion
