The awareness programme on the importance of nutrition in the first 1000 days of human life was organized in three Anganwadis at Pongaliyur, TG Nagar and Veerakeralam. On 22 April 2025, an awareness lecture delivered by a Doctor on \u201cBalanced diet for healthy life\u201d was organised for the contractual workers of ICAR-SBI.<\/p><p><strong>Nutrition Awareness Programmes for Children and Nursing Mothers<\/strong><\/p><p>The awareness activities for the children below three years on the importance of nutrition was organized in two Anganwadis at Pongaliyur and TG Nagar on 16 April 2025, and at Veerakeralam on 17 April 2025. As a play activity, the children sorted the fruits and vegetables based on the type. The children were asked to identify the nutritious foods and the nutritional significance of some important traditional fruits and vegetables was explained to them by displaying the natural fruits and vegetables. The children were distributed with the colouring book and colour pencils and taught them to identify the name of fruits and vegetables, and to colour the fruits and vegetables correctly. They were taught to avoid eating junk foods and follow healthy eating habits. During the event, the nursing mothers were advised to consume nutritional foods like fruits, vegetables, milk, egg, millets and greens in a balanced manner to ensure the good health of both infant and mother. Totally 78 participants including children and nursing mothers attended the awareness programme.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div &#8211; 2025 celebrated during 08 &#8211; 22 April 2025 ICAR- Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore celebrated Poshan Pakhwada 2025 by organizing a series of events during 08 &#8211; 22 April 2025. The awareness programme on the importance of nutrition in the first 1000 days of human life was organized in three Anganwadis at Pongaliyur, TG Nagar and Veerakeralam. On 22 April 2025, an awareness lecture delivered by a Doctor on \u201cBalanced diet for healthy life\u201d was organised for the contractual workers of ICAR-SBI. Nutrition Awareness Programmes for Children and Nursing Mothers The awareness activities for the children below three years on the importance of nutrition was organized in two Anganwadis at Pongaliyur and TG Nagar on 16 April 2025, and at Veerakeralam on 17 April 2025. As a play activity, the children sorted the fruits and vegetables based on the type. The children were asked to identify the nutritious foods and the nutritional significance of some important traditional fruits and vegetables was explained to them by displaying the natural fruits and vegetables. The children were distributed with the colouring book and colour pencils and taught them to identify the name of fruits and vegetables, and to colour the fruits and vegetables correctly. They were taught to avoid eating junk foods and follow healthy eating habits. During the event, the nursing mothers were advised to consume nutritional foods like fruits, vegetables, milk, egg, millets and greens in a balanced manner to ensure the good health of both infant and mother. Totally 78 participants including children and nursing mothers attended the awareness programme.
