AKMU - Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit

The Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU) is providing online interconnectivity between the different research institutes, national centres, State Agricultural Universities. The AKMU is involved in creation of databases on sugarcane and sugar production system. It envisages the adoption of advanced methods of communication and internet technologies. It is continuously doing content up-dating and creation of new webpages of the institute website. AKMU has provided technical support given to E-Governance applications such as ERP system, E-Office, TMIS, SPARROW, IRS, ARMS, E-HRMS and Krishi portal etc. AKMU actively arranging Video conferencing facility for online meeting, international conferences, national trainings, events and etc. AKMU is continuously upgrading IT infrastructure and accessories for easy communication by the staff. It is efficiently managing Local Area Networking (LAN), display system for showing events, AEBAS attendance system for employees. Web Security audit for Institute website has been done by a CERT-IN Empanelled firm from April 2024

AKMU facilitates the IT and ICT related activities of the Institute and ensures uninterrupted internet connectivity to all divisions/sections. Monitoring and 100 mbps internet facility by National Knowledge Project (NKN) through LAN as well as Wi-Fi. AKMU is also taking care of network security aspects, developing websites, regular updation of the Institute & ABI Webpages, Seed portal, maintenance of backup server and technical support to online meetings, webinars, online workshops and Trainings etc., Two numbers of 5 KVA UPS for backup the Server Room, AKMU and Network Racks for Uninterrupted Network connectivity.

AKMU are equipped with latest state-of-art technologies like computer hardware, Colour LaserJet Printer and peripherals. One video conferencing room have been setup to facilitate for online meeting/ presentation. Latest Computer System was installed at New Auditorium for Presentation with LED Wall. K7 Enterprise Security Advanced installed 144 systems for protecting from malwares, Trojan ransom wares and etc., Firewall Sonic wall NSA 2650 maintaining for protecting from outside attacks.
